PO Box Size Options
Many Post Offices offer five PO Box sizes, subject to availability.* Options range from extra small (XS – Size 1) to extra large (XL – Size 5). Select the right size based on your mail volume and whether you receive letters, packages, or both.
PO Box Solutions for Larger Packages
If you get packages that don’t fit into your PO Box, you’ll either:
- Get a slip to pick them up from the counter during normal business hours
- Extra Small (Size 1) – Ideal for receiving letters, postcards, and small envelopes. Typically measures around 3″ x 5.5″ x 14″.
- Small (Size 2) – Suitable for larger envelopes and a few small packages. The approximate dimensions are 5″ x 5.5″ x 14″.
- Medium (Size 3) – Can hold large envelopes, magazines, and small to medium-sized packages. It usually measures 11″ x 5.5″ x 14″.
- Large (Size 4) – Designed for businesses or individuals who receive frequent or bulkier mail. The dimensions are roughly 11″ x 11″ x 14″.
- Extra Large (Size 5) – The biggest option, capable of holding multiple packages and large amounts of mail. Typically around 22.5″ x 12″ x 14″.
*Note: The depth of most PO Boxes is 14.75″. All sizes not available in all locations. Prices differ depending on your location
